First, students must find a Thesis Supervisor and confirm their commitment in writing. Once the draft proposal is completed, students should apply for the Thesis Proposal Defense at the IMAS office.
Please collect the required forms for the proposal defense from the [Downloads Page] and submit the following documents:
The application process may take at least 14 working days. All documents must be signed before the proposal defense takes place.
While waiting for the documents to be processed and signed, please contact and confirm with all three committee members (Examination Members) the date and time of your Proposal Defense. Kindly notify the IMAS office to send formal invitations to the professors, with all emails copying the applicant. Once the schedule is finalized, the office will reserve a classroom for the defense.
For the Thesis Proposal Defense, students must form a committee of at least three members, including the supervisor.
One member must be a full-time faculty member of the College of Social Sciences (CSS).
At least one-third of the committee must be from a university or institute other than NCCU.
After the defense, please collect all signed forms and submit them to the IMAS office.
Important Note:
Students must complete the Proposal Defense at least four months before the Final Thesis Defense.
(For students admitted before Academic Year 111, the required interval between the Proposal Defense and Final Thesis Defense is two months.)
For more information, please refer to the IMAS Regulations.
