International Master's Program in Asia-Pacific Studies

The Asia-Pacific region’s development has rapidly increased in the 21st century. The College of Social Sciences of National Chengchi University is proud to offer the International Master’s Program in Asia-Pacific Studies (IMAS) in response to this global trend.

Originally founded in 2003 as the International Master’s Program in Taiwan Studies and the International Master’s Program in China Studies, the International Master’s Program in Asia-Pacific Studies (IMAS) was the first English-taught program of its kind in Taiwan.

The International Master’s Program in Asia-Pacific Studies (IMAS) curriculum improves students’ knowledge of the region, broadens their horizons, and connects them with local and regional students and professors in a multicultural environment. IMAS’ ideal candidates are social science undergraduates with research or work experience in both the public and the private sector.

What We Offer

IMAS offers courses in Taiwan and China studies, as well as in regional studies. All courses are taught in English and cover a wide range of disciplines: political science, economics, international relations, ethnology, anthropology, history, and others.

Students may also take several courses offered by other departments of National Chengchi University allowing them to craft their personalized curriculum.

In the end, by teaching our students to critically analyze and understand the Asia-Pacific region, we believe they will broaden their worldviews, be able to handle international affairs, and enhance their global competitiveness.
